Since 1979, Copernicus Lodge has been “a place to call home” for Polish seniors in our independent living apartments and long-term care home. Located in the heart of Roncesvalles Village in Toronto, founded by Father Michael Smith, OMI, and a board of 30 directors, the mission was to provide for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of Polish elders in an environment true to their culture and traditions.
Initially built to serve the aging Polish diaspora, a number of whom served in the Second World War or survived Siberian exile, Copernicus Lodge has grown over the past 45 years into an organization that provides compassionate care and services to more than 400 seniors and remains true to its Roman Catholic roots and Polish heritage.
